In April, Microcity SA, part of the Switzerland Innovation Park Network West EPFL, opened a third site, located just a stone’s throw from the CSEM (Swiss Centre for Electronics and Microtechnology) and the EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology).

Complementing the two existing sites in La Chaux-de-Fonds (focused on industrial activities) and Neuchâtel, this third site primarily offers a coworking space designed to facilitate discussions and synergies between start-ups, R&D teams and innovation delegates from SMEs and large companies, investors and organisations supporting innovation (such as platinn).

In 2019, two new programmes will be specifically designed to support SMEs and large companies with their innovation projects. In parallel, the existing start-up incubation programme will continue to evolve to meet the needs of young entrepreneurs.

To improve its efficiency and the coordination of its company support initiatives, platinn now operates out of Microcity SA’s premises. The new services being developed to help SMEs will complement those already offered by platinn.

Drawing on the combined results of several surveys carried out by various organisations on what SMEs need in order to become innovative and competitive, Microcity SA’s Board of Directors and management team are designing new, tailored, local services with high added value for SMEs based in Neuchâtel.
