27.9.17

At 10:45 a.m. on September 22, 2017, Seyda Subasi Gemici, an official adjudicator from Guinness World Records said: “Congratulations, you are officially amazing!” Following weeks of experimenting and 3D printers working day and night, the FABLAB at Switzerland Innovation Park Biel/Bienne has set a new world record. Thanks to the numerous sponsors who participated by purchasing a carriage, the FABLAB team produced the longest ever train created using 3D printers – with a total of 55 carriages.

Large, modern, professional – these are the words that describe the new FABLAB at SIP BB, which occupies 300 square meters and welcomed numerous visitors to its official opening on September 23, 2017.

The FABLAB (or fabrication laboratory) is an open-plan workshop that provides customers with access to production resources and modern industrial production processes. It was designed for the production of individual pieces and is part of the prototyping service.
