New AI-Powered Healthcare Hub Is Coming to Campus Biotech, Site of Switzerland Innovation Park West EPFL

Geneva is leading the way in brain care and the brain economy bringing together healthcare professionals and AI experts to improve treatment and research.

A new AI-powered healthcare hub, opening in the second half of 2025, is coming to Campus Biotech, Site of Switzerland Innovation Park West EPFL, thanks to a unique collaboration between the Wyss Center for Bio and Neuroengineering, HUG - Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève, and the Department of Health and Mobility (DSM) of Etat de Genève. 

“Geneva is where the future of brain care and the brain economy begins! This collaboration marks a decisive milestone in healthcare, starting in Switzerland and expanding beyond in the long term. Thanks to our collaboration with research and clinical partners, we will develop state-of-the-art solutions to transform the lives of people with neurological and mental health disorders—as well as their families.” says Prof. Dr. med. Erwin Böttinger, Director of the Wyss Center

Here’s what you can expect:

  1. Patient Care and Research: HUG specialists, in collaboration with the Wyss Center, will offer cutting-edge diagnostics and treatments for conditions like epilepsy, strokes, depression, and sleep disorders, with access to clinical trials and new therapies.
  2. Translational Research: The hub will support AI-guided neuromodulation and foster innovation through start-ups., like dEEGtal, which focuses on AI-based epilepsy diagnostics.
  3. AI Integration: It will drive research into AI-powered solutions for healthcare, improving prevention, patient care, and administrative processes.
  4. 4. Education and Engagement: The hub will host training sessions, discussions, and events to raise awareness about the ethical, scientific, and social aspects of AI in healthcare.
