Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich aims to be a source of inspiration, with researchers and developers, experts and skilled personnel developing ideas and solutions for the world of the future. The Stiftung Innovationspark Zürich is responsible for the park’s establishment and operation.
PURPOSE OF THE STIFTUNG INNOVATIONSPARK ZÜRICH
- The Stiftung Innovationspark Zürich establishes, develops and operates Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich as part of Switzerland Innovation. It promotes innovation (new products, services, business models, processes) and the networking of science and business.
- It is a public, nonprofit organization, with any profits earned being reinvested in the foundation.
- It has a mandate to develop all activities that promote the achievement of its objectives, which may also include buying and selling land, establishing companies, acquiring stakes in companies and issuing mandates to third parties.
- It represents the interests of Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich within the context of Switzerland Innovation.

Facts and Figures about Financing and Profitability
The Stiftung Innovationspark Zürich is responsible for the park’s establishment and operation, and was created in September 2015 by the Canton of Zurich, the Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ) and the Cantonal Bank of Zurich (ZKB). These partners have also provided both the necessary capital and the funds needed for the operation of the innovation park in the initial years. In the medium to long term, the innovation park should be independently organized and financed by the institutions and companies located on the site.

CRITERIA FOR RESIDENTS
Innovation, Variation, Sensation
Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich aims to attract new research projects, supporting the economy of the region using a careful, sustainable and flexible approach. In its role as a platform, the innovation park will help to create new jobs and act as a magnet for new companies and suppliers from the region, all of which will in turn have a positive impact on education, employment and purchasing power. Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich will improve Zurich’s already considerable appeal as a location and the high quality of life in the region.
The Foundation Board has defined a series of central quality criteria for selecting research and development teams interested in establishing a location at the site:
- Collaboration with a scientific institution located on the site, or establishment and maintenance of a technology platform for use by the park
- Work in one of the research and innovation focus areas
- Willingness to play an active role in the innovation park, and to help shape the shared knowledge platform

Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich forms part of the national Switzerland Innovation initiative, which offers domestic and foreign companies five different sites for developing innovative ideas into marketable products. Each of the attractively located sites offers first-class accessibility and proximity to universities and is suitable for further expansion. The other sites are: Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area, Switzerland Innovation Park innovaare, Switzerland Innovation Park Network West EPFL and Switzerland Innovation Park Biel/Bienne.
