On April 1, 2023 Martin Sturzenegger will take over the operational management of the Zurich Innovation Park Foundation. Following the 10 years during which René Kalt and his team have laid the basis for the Innovation Park’s further development, the new managing director will accompany the next important development steps. Corinna Müller will take over the management of the Innovation Park ad interim until the new managing director takes up the post.

Martin Sturzenegger, currently Managing Director of Säntis-Schwebebahn AG, and formerly Director of Zurich Tourism, will take over the management of the Zurich Innovation Park Foundation on April 1, 2023. The new manager has been familiar with the project since the start, at that time in his role as Director of Zurich Tourism, and is looking forward to his new challenge: “Taking on the next development steps in this generation project is a matter close to my heart.”

At the beginning of a new development phase thanks to planning law

This key project in the Zurich economic area on Dübendorf airfield has had planning rights since the positive decision of the Federal Supreme Court. In the meantime common objectives were approved together with all the partners around the airfield and documented in a synthesis report. In the next phase, renovation work and leasehold improvements will be undertaken on the existing buildings and the planning of new buildings for cooperation between science and business will be driven forward. This requires further development of both the content and the operation of current Foundation tasks. The President of the Board of Trustees, Peter E. Bodmer is looking forward to the new managing director’s input: “Martin Sturzenegger has the skills the project will need in the next stages. With his resilience, his knowledge of Zurich as a location, and his experience in destination management, he can make Zurich Innovation Park a top address for promoting innovation in Switzerland”.

Until Martin Sturzenegger takes up his new challenge Corinna Muller will manage the office ad interim. She comes from the Angst+Pfister Group where she led marketing projects across the group and international campaigns.” I believe in the vision of Zurich Innovation Park and the great importance given to it. I am very pleased to be able to contribute to this exciting project”.

A decade of commitment and benefit for the Innovation Park

For 10 years René Kalt led the development work around the Innovation Park and with his thoughtful leadership and passion for the project laid the solid and sustainable basis for further development steps. During this time he was able to create a functioning Innovation Park nucleus out of an idea and a vision, and thereby a trendsetting development for the region. “For me it was an incredibly rewarding and inspiring cooperation, and on behalf of the Board of Trustees I wish to thank René most sincerely for his commitment and achievement in this generation project.” Says Peter E Bodmer, President of the Board of Trustees.
