The Foundation Switzerland Innovation proudly announced the launch of its new global “Switzerland Innovation Treasure Map” during an event held at the annual Swiss Ambassadors’ Conference (BoKo) in Bern. This milestone highlights the Foundation’s enhanced role in positioning Switzerland, with its six Innovation Parks across 16 regional sites, as a unified and world-class innovation destination on the international stage.
Under the theme “The Switzerland Innovation Parks as an Instrument of Switzerland’s Global Positioning” the event brought together members of Switzerland’s diplomatic corps and key figures from the innovation ecosystem to showcase how the Switzerland Innovation Parks are helping strengthen the country’s global reputation for excellence in research, development, and technology.
The Foundation Switzerland Innovation acts as the central body coordinating the international promotion of the Switzerland Innovation Parks network. The six Innovation Parks span over 260,000 m² of dedicated R&D and innovation space, host more than 700 resident companies, and connect with over 68 research partners. These parks foster collaboration between academia, industry, startups, and investors, creating an environment where breakthrough technologies and innovation can thrive.
The newly launched “Switzerland Innovation Treasure Map” is a critical component of the foundation’s updated promotion strategy. It provides international partners and companies looking to conduct R&D in Switzerland with clearer, faster, and more personalized access to the country’s innovation ecosystem.
Switzerland is world-renowned for innovation, said Thomas Gfeller, CEO of the Foundation Switzerland Innovation. Our new “Switzerland Innovation Treasure Map” sharpens how we tell that story abroad, by unifying our innovation parks under a single brand and offering a streamlined gateway for foreign companies and partners. This launch empowers our diplomatic network to communicate the country’s strengths and opportunities in R&D more effectively.
The event also featured a high-profile panel discussion, where Swiss innovation leaders shared firsthand insights into the country’s unique research–industry collaboration model and the benefits of being part of the Switzerland Innovation Parks:
- Prof. Monica Duca-Widmer, President, Università della Svizzera italiana
- Ronja Müller-Bruhn, CEO/CFO, STIMIT AG
- Stephen Wilson, CEO, Botnar Institute of Immune Engineering (BIIE)
This launch also marks a significant expansion of Switzerland Innovation’s international outreach. The treasure map supports the Switzerland Innovation’s presence in 11 key global markets, including:
Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, United Kingdom, and United States.
This outreach is made possible through collaboration with Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE) and the Swissnex network.
Switzerland Innovation’s updated strategy emphasizes clarity, precision, and expanded global engagement, reinforcing Switzerland’s position as a leading international hub for innovation.
