This year’s Scientifica brought research out of the laboratory and closer to the public. Over nine days, around 1,500 researchers welcomed approximately 40,000 visitors to explore science and innovation firsthand. As part of the festival, Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich hosted the opening event day in Dübendorf together with ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich.
Researchers from ETH Zurich, the University of Zurich and Empa joined companies and student teams from across the campus to present their work and demonstrate technologies in action. Visitors were able to explore fields ranging from aerospace and space technologies to robotics and autonomous systems, advanced manufacturing, new materials, and climate and environmental technologies. The event offered a hands-on look at research and innovation that are already being developed across the Park and its wider ecosystem.
Hosting Scientifica also provided an opportunity to highlight the role of Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich as a meeting place for research, industry and entrepreneurship. With research projects, emerging technologies, ambitious ventures and a growing community of innovators already active on site, the event demonstrated how the Park connects with Switzerland’s broader innovation ecosystem. At the same time, it offered visitors a glimpse into the Park’s continued development and its potential as a location where new technologies can be developed, tested and translated into real-world applications.
