Switzerland and Vietnam Strengthen Innovation Ties

Switzerland Innovation presented its nationwide R&D ecosystem at the Swiss-Viet Economic Forum 2026, strengthening dialogue on AI, digital trust and cross-border innovation.

Switzerland Innovation strengthened its dialogue with Vietnam at the Swiss-Viet Economic Forum 2026, held on 10 June at the University of Zurich. CEO Thomas Gfeller delivered the keynote address and took part in a high-level discussion focused on innovation, artificial intelligence, digital trust and international collaboration. The forum brought together representatives from government, business, academia and innovation ecosystems from Switzerland and Vietnam.

The exchange highlighted how strong innovation ecosystems can support international partnerships and give companies access to research expertise, infrastructure and new collaboration opportunities. Switzerland Innovation presented its nationwide Park Network as a platform for Vietnamese companies seeking to work with Swiss research institutions, develop new technologies and connect with international markets. Across Switzerland, the network brings companies and academic partners together at 16 locations, providing specialised infrastructure and support for research and development.

AI and digital trust were central themes of the forum’s innovation session, alongside responsible innovation and cross-border cooperation. For Switzerland Innovation, the discussion underlined the potential of open innovation to connect complementary capabilities between the two countries. The event therefore provided both a platform for presenting Switzerland’s R&D ecosystem and an opportunity to deepen relationships with organisations interested in future Swiss–Vietnamese research and innovation collaboration.
