IPROVA STREAMLINES INVENTION WITH AI, ACCELERATING THE DEVELOPMENT OF PATENTABLE IDEAS

Iprova uses AI to accelerate invention, generating 1,500+ patents for global tech leaders.

“We benefit from being here in a number of ways, some members of the EPFL faculty are on our Advisory Board and in addition to that we hire many graduate students from EPFL.”

CEO, Iprova

Iprova, headquartered at Switzerland Innovation Park West - EPFL Innovation Park, is changing the way invention happens. Combining artificial intelligence (AI) with the company’s proprietary human-AI integration technology, Iprova’s Invention Studio 3 platform helps some of the world’s biggest companies create and document high-quality, patentable inventions faster and more systematically than ever before.

Traditional research and development (R&D) processes rely on brainstorming, serendipity, and trial-and-error. Whilst keeping the human inventor at the center, Iprova turns this on its head. Their technology continuously scans global information streams, scientific journals, patent filings, news, and more, to detect inventive signals in real-time. These signals are then utilized by human inventors who can efficiently use them to invent in direct response to daily social, market and technical changes. The resulting inventions can then be evaluated against various metrics and automatically documented for patent filing or sharing across the workflow. This allows companies to stay ahead of emerging trends, and critically, their competitors

The result: more than 1,500 patent filings across over 100 fields, from health tech to FMCG and telecommunications. Iprova’s clients include companies as diverse as Philips, Proctor & Gamble and Sony and patents citing Iprova-originated inventions have been referenced by all ten of the world’s largest tech companies.

Iprova licenses its Invention Studio 3 platform, and through its unique team of professional inventors, optionally provides ready-to-use inventions to its customers. For instance, BIC established an internal Invention Lab powered by Iprova's tools to develop new consumer products. In 2024, Iprova co-hosted the AI-Assisted Invention Summit with Microsoft at IMD Lausanne, reinforcing its role as a thought leader in AI-driven R&D.

With a mission to make invention faster, more reliable, and aligned with real-world needs, Iprova is pushing the frontier of innovation, helping organizations invent with purpose and precision.
