PARK INNOVAARE
Switzerland Innovation Park Innovaare, located next to the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), focuses on photonics and quantum technologies, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor technologies, and energy & sustainability. With 25 resident companies, the site offers 23,000 m² of office, co-working, and lab space including 450 m² of cleanrooms, event rooms for up to 100 people, and an in-house restaurant. Tenants benefit from direct access to PSI’s large-scale research infrastructure and accelerator facilities. Key partners include FHNW and the European Space Deep-tech Innovation Centre (ESDI).

At Park Innovaare, research is conducted using state-of-the-art infrastructure in micro- and nanotechnologies. The PICO cleanroom enables precise fabrication techniques such as electron beam and grayscale lithography, thin-film technology, and plasma processing. Companies like Eulitha use Displacement Talbot Lithography for nanopatterning, while XRnanotech develops 3D nanostructures for imaging and semiconductor technology – supported by PSI and research partners.

The SynFuels project by Empa and PSI, together with industry partners, develops synthetic kerosene from CO₂ and hydrogen obtained from renewable sources such as air, biomass, or industrial emissions. The synthesis proceeds via intermediates like methanol or dimethyl ether, using catalysts in chemical and electrochemical processes. The goal is a CO₂-neutral aviation fuel with high energy efficiency and minimal residue.

In close collaboration with PSI (Paul Scherrer Institut), the ANAXAM initiative and other young companies provide industry access to synchrotron and neutron radiation (SLS, SwissFEL, SINQ) for highly precise material analysis at the molecular level. Using methods such as X‑ray absorption spectroscopy, neutron imaging, scattering techniques, and others, materials are optimized and processes improved – serving as a bridge between research, development, and industrial application.

Various particle accelerator facilities are available at the Paul Scherrer Institute PSI in Villigen, which are open to researchers from science and industry for experiments. These include X-ray free-electron laser SwissFEL, Swiss Light Source SLS, neutron spallation source SINQ, muon source SμS, research infrastructure for particle physics CHRISP and the proton accelerator facility. The application for beamtime (beam time) depends on the respective facility and its intended use. The PSI facilities are unique worldwide in their combination at one location, and some devices are only available at PSI worldwide.
Park Innovaare offers advanced CT services through resident partners like ANAXAM and Universallab. These services include high-resolution 3D imaging, micro-CT, and operando analysis for industrial and research applications - from motors to microchips. Leveraging proximity to PSI’s facilities like the Swiss Light Source, Park Innovaare enables precise material analysis and supports innovation in materials science and engineering.
Park Innovaare offers access to 600m2 of PSI clean rooms as well as the possibility to expand a clean room according to your own wishes and requirements (category ISO 7, 60m2 usable area, vibration resistance according to standard VC-E)
The Switzerland Innovation Park Innovaare also offers dry labs and makerspaces on a total area of 23,000m2. It is also possible to use the PSI's well-equipped prototype workshop.
Numerous, fully equipped physics, biology and chemistry laboratories up to Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) in various sizes offer independence and development potential for young companies or R&D departments of established companies.

Whether you want to get off to a good start with your own space in a high-end shell building of 200-1200m2 or start small in a coworking or shared space: Park Innovaare offers plenty of space for flexibility and individual needs on a total of 23,000m2.
In addition to fully furnished offices, Park Innovaare also offers numerous co-working workstations as well as a spacious community zone that provides enough room for new things to emerge from nothing - meetings, ideas or simply a little time out.
In the immediate vicinity of the Paul Scherrer Institute PSI, Park Innovaare offers modern event and meeting rooms for up to 100 people. All rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art presentation technology. In addition to the event rooms, other rooms can also be rented for break-out sessions or other purposes. A total of 17 rooms of various sizes are available for flexible use in the building
